With digital photography, it costs nothing to repeat a shot in the pursuit of “perfection”. Being able to gauge each shot immediately afterwards allows for instant gratification. Afterwards, there’s often an expectation to edit images further – something I’m neither skilled at nor interested in. The finished result is something highly polished and possibly artificial.

With film photography, more intention and consideration is needed for each shot. Having a finite number of shots means that each one must matter. There is no instant feedback – only instincts. Less repetition and iteration, more thought and care. Apart from straightening some photographs, these are unedited and real.

What you see is what exists – unfiltered and unenhanced in any way.
